River Response (R2) is a crisis response relief outreach ministry of River of Life Church in Pahala, Hawaii. Our heart is to respond to God’s call to emergency and crisis situations here in Hawaii and beyond as the Lord leads.
Our mission is to help relieve the suffering and burdens that come from tragedy and loss as a result of natural disasters, acts of terror and emergency and crisis situations by helping to meet the immediate and basic needs of people and families that have experienced loss from these unfortunate events.
Some of the ways we look to meeting these needs are through providing requested or needed resources and necessities for basic living i.e. clothing, food, shelter, equipment etc., transportation and travel support, provide referrals to rentals & housing, financial assistance for initial move in based on a case by case basis (*as budget permits), emotional and spiritual chaplaincy support.
We believe that we can only accomplish any of these outreach efforts through the power and faithfulness of Jesus Christ and His Spirit and Presence flowing within and through our lives to touch a hurting world and also through the generous financial donations that come from our R2 kingdom friends and partners.

The Vanpouckes. Jeremy, Julia, Kailani and Maily. Escaped the Lahaina fires and feel closer to one another and closer to the Lord.
The Vanpouckes lost everything in the Lahaina fires including their place of employment, Lahaina Grill, where Jeremy worked as a chef. Thanks to your generous donations we were able to take this beautiful family out to shop for clothing items and necessities.
